Given coffee planting was first established at Kirinyaga in 1953, this cup is one that’s steeped in history. Several farmers-come-members of the Rungeto Farmers Cooperative Society (F.C.S.) poured their best cherries into this lot, where they underwent a washed process particularly distinctive to Kenya. Alongside being harvested, and depulped on the same day, the beans benefit from an additional soaking step at the Kii wet mill before the usual 24-48 hour fermentation. Expect from these AB-graded beans an enhanced sweetness, pronounced acidity, and delightful fruit flavour.
