An award-winning geisha hailing from one of Guatemala’s oldest coffee-growing regions. The 2016 winner of the Anacafe Regional Competition, this coffee carries distinctive fruits and blossom notes that reflect its immaculate growing conditions. Such conditions are hinted at in the name—Agua Tibia means ‘warm water’ in Spanish, referencing the nearby active volcanos that inform the farm’s nutrient-rich soil. The Castillo family make the most of the lush environment through companion planting Ingas trees. Their large leaves drop often, providing extra organic nourishment to the geisha trees as they grow.
